Let your children recognise that you have personal interests and pleasures outside the home too. They should not think of you as their property that cannot and should not have any life outside the family. We all need some time to ourselves for a hobby, for relaxation, for friends, and they should understand that this applies to Mom too. ItÂ’s all part of growing up. You may need to talk it over a bit , but they should be able to accept that you need to have other interests outside family life; and this does not pose any threat to your relationship with them.
