Cheap High Performance Car Insurance
Why pay more for high performance car insurance? Just because you own a fast car, does that mean you are going to drive fast? There are many high performance car collectors in this country and many of them don’t really drive fast at all….heck their cars cost too much money to put in jeopardy driving like a mad man. Does this mean that their insurance company will give them the same rates as a “regular” car? Ya right, think again.
In the vast majority of cases the insurance premiums will be MUCH higher for a high performance muscle car than that of a standard vehicle. Is this fair? Is there really such a thing as cheap fast car insurance?
I don’t think so, because I believe that most high performance vehicle owners are safer drivers than the other vehicles on the road. So how can you as a fast car owner reduce your insurance rates?
- Carry the highest deductible amount you possibly can
- Move your other insurance policies to one company if possible, many will offer combined coverage discounts
- Ask for discounts like limited use or restricted use discounts if you only drive your muscle car on the weekends or at certain times of the year etc.
- Take defensive driving
- Clean up your driving record. Make sure your driving record stays clean and clear of violations even when not driving in your fast car. Any and all violations will increase your rates regardless of what kind of vehicle you were driving in when you were giving the citation.
